At Zamaya there is a major focus on the overall sustainability and environmental impact of the resort.
Sustainability and Zamaya’s broader environmental and social impact are carefully considered throughout every stage of the resort’s construction and operations.
During the design and development phase, strong emphasis was placed on the use of local, organic, and sustainable materials, alongside advanced wastewater treatment systems. This commitment is reflected in details ranging from the reuse of excavated limestone in the resort’s walls to the selection of bamboo as the material for our large-scale training structures. These huge quantities of bamboo were sourced from sustainable plantations in Veracruz.
From an operational perspective, Zamaya is committed to being entirely free of single-use plastics. Every guest receives a customized stainless steel water bottle, supported by filtered water refill stations located throughout the resort. Reducing plastic pollution is a core priority for Zamaya and an important part of the resort’s environmental mission.
Zamaya has also established a foundation dedicated to supporting local biodiversity conservation initiatives and partnering with schools and youth organizations in the region. Through these programs, children are given the opportunity to train at Zamaya and experience the discipline, confidence, and motivation that sport and fitness can provide early in life.
In addition, the Zamaya Foundation aims to create a scholarship program for talented young boxers from the region, helping to support their training and hopefully the development of some future local champions.
